I love to eat!!

My belly looks like this...nice and round :)!!

Because momma cant resist feeding me when I make this adorable little face!!

We had been doing really good with our lil guy on a pretty consistent 3 hour schedule, and then yesterday hit...and he decided that he should cut it down to every 2 hours. Oh my! When did you get your little ones to start sleeping through the night? Any helpful hints? I know hes only 2 weeks old so we've got some time...but i just want to be prepared when we get to the point where the pediatrician says its ok!!

  1. Ha... you may have a while. Every kid is different. My mom always says at 11 pounds babies are big enough to go through the night without eating.
That was true with Hays. He started sleeping through the night (or close to) around 10 weeks.

  2. My daughter was 10 pounds when she was born and I always had to wake her up for feedings, even in the first weeks. (That's one thing I'll do differently next time -- if I have another big baby, I'm not getting up every 2 hours to force her to eat if she would rather be sleeping, because so would I!) I don't know if it's just her, or if it's because she was so big from the beginning, but we've been getting a minimum of 4 hours from the day we brought her home from the hospital (the nurses wouldn't let us go that long when we were there!). Now we typically get 7 hours, at almost 11 weeks old.

Eli's probably hit a growth spurt -- the first one typically hits around 3 weeks but he may be getting there early and that's why he's eating more. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets back to his previous 3 hours in a week or so. (That said, my kid still wants to eat every 2 hours during the day, so I could be getting your hopes up for naught here.)

  3. Adorable little boy!! Eli is so precious! Congrats! My little girl, Stella, is still only sleeping about 5 hours a night max, then waking up to feed, then sleeping another 3 hours or so, but she takes a big 3 hour nap during the day, and several shorter hour naps randomly throughout the day.

Also, in response to your question on my blog about fuzzibunz :) She's wearing the perfect fit size smalls, and we love them! She started fitting into her cloth just before 2 weeks, at about 8.5lbs, so yep, you're little man could probably fit them. Although, leg size does have a lot to do with it, she had skinny legs, so we did the tightest setting on the snaps, none showing on bottom, but the top ones we leave 1 snap between them, before I think they were all snapped... but we opened one up as her tummy grew. I also love the fuzzibunz at night, we double stuff them now, and she can go a good 7 hours in them, no dampness on the outside at all. we go a snap out when double stuffing, the legs should be snug, but not leave red marks, it's kinda trial and error the first few times, but you'll quickly learn what works :) cant wait to see a picture of your little man in his fluff!

  4. i did baby wise so i started sleep training when he was two weeks. not easy but it does work if you are consistent.
good luck with whatever route you choose!
