Creative Memo Board

My husband decided the other day that we need a
Memo Board that has both a cork side and a dry erase side. He started looking online, and I just cannot justify how much one of those super plain boards costs, so I started checking out blogs for ideas!! This is my favorite! Im thinking, find an old paneled door, cover one panel with dry erase board and the other with old wine corks. Does it matter that we dont drink wine?? Oh well I love it...i think this is truly an ingenious way to update such a basic concept.

200

This is my 200th post since starting this blog, and its so funny to look back at the old entries and see how far we have come. When I started writing in 2009 we were newlyweds with only love in our eyes. Three years later we have a 5 month old baby and although my husband and I are still very much in love, our eyes are more blood shot and covered with bags from lack of sleep than anything! But we wouldnt trade our new addition for all the sleep in the world! Since 2011 was full of new first for us, I decided to dedicate this post to our first trip to the park!! Oh baby E you're gonna love the park even more when you can slide by yourself. Until then we will keep squeezing ourselves in to child sized spaces just to see you smile!

Easiest Brownies EVER

Normally I am all about the boxed brownies because they're cheap and easy, but the other day I wanted some brownies and didnt have any mixes. So I went looking in my Nestle Toll House Best Loved Recipes Book and found the perfect, SUPER EASY, recipe!!

2 cups (12oz package) NESTLE TOLL HOUSE semi sweet chocolate mosels
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
3 large eggs
1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 13X9 inch baking pan.

MELT 1 cup morsels and butter in large, heavy-duty saucepan over low heat; stir until smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in eggs. Stir in flour, sugar, vanilla extract and baking soda. Stir in remaining morsels and nuts. Spread into prepared baking pan.

Bake for 18-22 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out slightly sticky. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.

Remember "When" sday

In honor of Steve Jobs....

Remember before Ipods came along we used these....

I can remember jamming to my Brandy CD on my discman and how when we would go on family vacations I would have to pack a whole package of double A's to keep the jams rolling! Oh and remember how we used to record our favorite songs off the radio onto cassettes and then pop them into our walkmans? Oh how I miss the days of getting free songs off the radio but the convenience of my ipod is worth paying for every song I have!! Love that thing...thanks Steve Jobs.

5 Months

Sweet Baby Boy you're now 5 months old. You are such a little mover and shaker!! You've always been a little wiggly worm but now you're getting even harder to contain. In fact the picture with the OU boots is the last one I took before you decided to dive head first out of the rocking chair....dont worry I caught you!!

This month you decided that you were done with sleep. You literally started sleeping like 6 hours a day total. You're up till about midnight and up by 5 am...and yes there is a feeding in the middle of that. And when we put you down for naps during the day you're more into the 20 minute power nap than the 1.5 hr ones you took last month. You have finally conquered the fear of loud noises!!! YEAH!! We are now free to sneeze without fear of scaring you half to death. You're so so close to sitting up by yourself, but unfortunately we're going to have to quit using the bumbo because you're reaching for everything and leaning right out of the bumbo. Your favorite things to reach for are anything you're not supposed to have...the remote, cell phones, and food off of our plates!! You also love water bottles. You are so easily amused with the crunching sound of a water bottle. You even picked up my water bottle the other day and put it in your mouth correctly!! Soon enough you'll be on to sippy cups!! Your favorite toy this month is your worm Larry! You wrestle with him, and laugh at him, and love to hear all the different sounds he makes. You're still only drinking milk, but we are contemplating a move to solids soon so that mommy and daddy can get more sleep at night. You're about 2.5 feet tall already and quickly outgrowing all of your clothes. Most of your onesies are all 9-12 months already. We are so excited that the holidays are coming up and cannot wait to celebrate with you. We love you chuy!!
