Rubber Ducky

We introduced E to the rubber ducky this week, and it was a huge success!! Made bath time much smoother!! But now ducky goes everywhere with us. Good thing he'll get his own bath in the tub! Oh yeah and we're in the big tub these days and E loves the freedom!

9 Months

E Diddy,

Yes that is what we call you these days...pretty much we always refer to you as some nick name. Hopefully in all the confusion you still learn what your real name is. You're now nine months old, and just had your last "baby" appointment at the doctor. He said the next time we come for your 1 year visit you will be considered a toddler :*(!! How did that happen already?
Well you're measuring in at 21.6 (62 %) pounds, and are 30.1 (93 %) inches long. You're right on track for motor skills but are a little behind in communication. Honestly, you're just too busy moving to worry about sitting down to chit chat. Although your favorite play toy is the phone, so there is still hope yet!! You love the puppy and watch him non stop. He is far more interesting to you than either of your parents. You're always doing what you know you're not supposed to. You will actually start crawling toward the laundry room or the bar stools that we have repeatedly told you not to climb on, turn around, look at us and smile then move as fast as you can to the restricted area.
You absolutely LOVE the park and the zoo. I think it is still because you love the other little kids, and not so much about the slides or animals, but that will come with time. You absolutely hate the baby swings, but could spend hours crawling around in the grass, or trying to go up the slide.
You put everything in your mouth...grass, socks, phones, paper..whatever you can get your hand on. But you wont eat anything other than baby food. We have tried puffs, and eggos, and cheese, and you will have none of it. Heaven forbid you actually eat food thats edible.
You're very alert. If you hear the washer or the door you immediately swing in that direction and want to know what is going on. You still dont like the sun very much, but lil man if we're going to be in AZ you better get over that. You have two bottom teeth, and your top left fang is coming in too. You FINALLY have your schedule figured out and are sleeping through the night. Now if your dad could just get on the right schedule too, we would be in business!!
Your favorite food is sweet potatoes. Your favorite toys are anything that fits in your mouth or makes noise. You like to be free, you always try to crawl out of your high chair and bouncy seat, and are unhappy if you're not free to crawl as you please.
When you get tired you get really clumsy, so at night there are lots of falls. You still take a pretty good nap in the afternoon which I really appreciate. All in all you're a happy baby, as long as we feed you what you want, let you be free to crawl around, and give you all our attention!! haha

Family Day at the Park

Eli received this wagon for Christmas from Santa and absolutely LOVES it!! Most of the time we just pull him around in the house but we took him to the park the other day and it was a huge success. I was a bit worried at first that he would try to crawl out of the wagon but as you can see our son just laid on back and enjoyed the ride!! Also this was the first time for him to swing on his own, and well he was not real sure about it. We may have to work up to enjoying this. He was also very unsure about the grass, and spent most of the time trying to stuff it in his mouth. But hey its only the second time hes ever been in grass so who can blame him!

Baby Blues

check out these baby blues...omg cutest thing ever!! It was the first cold day since he has been here so we got all bundled up and headed outside!! Haha he is so mismatched but I love him!! He is rocking Aarons muppet shirt from when he was a baby!! LOVE IT!!

5 Months

Sweet Baby Boy you're now 5 months old. You are such a little mover and shaker!! You've always been a little wiggly worm but now you're getting even harder to contain. In fact the picture with the OU boots is the last one I took before you decided to dive head first out of the rocking chair....dont worry I caught you!!

This month you decided that you were done with sleep. You literally started sleeping like 6 hours a day total. You're up till about midnight and up by 5 am...and yes there is a feeding in the middle of that. And when we put you down for naps during the day you're more into the 20 minute power nap than the 1.5 hr ones you took last month. You have finally conquered the fear of loud noises!!! YEAH!! We are now free to sneeze without fear of scaring you half to death. You're so so close to sitting up by yourself, but unfortunately we're going to have to quit using the bumbo because you're reaching for everything and leaning right out of the bumbo. Your favorite things to reach for are anything you're not supposed to have...the remote, cell phones, and food off of our plates!! You also love water bottles. You are so easily amused with the crunching sound of a water bottle. You even picked up my water bottle the other day and put it in your mouth correctly!! Soon enough you'll be on to sippy cups!! Your favorite toy this month is your worm Larry! You wrestle with him, and laugh at him, and love to hear all the different sounds he makes. You're still only drinking milk, but we are contemplating a move to solids soon so that mommy and daddy can get more sleep at night. You're about 2.5 feet tall already and quickly outgrowing all of your clothes. Most of your onesies are all 9-12 months already. We are so excited that the holidays are coming up and cannot wait to celebrate with you. We love you chuy!!

First Day at the Park

Where we live grass is a precious commodity. So with a few minutes to spare between hitting up the airport and waiting for Costco to open we headed to a local park to give out little man his first introduction to grass!! And let me just tell you...he loved it!! And how appropriate that it was actually grass on a baseball field. He is destined to go pro :)!! Or be a preacher...or garbage man. Whatever...just fun to dream!

4 Months

So I am a few weeks behind, but in my life these days, lets just say I am glad to be finally getting some time at the computer. From an ER visit and a couple doctor follow ups we have been just trying to get healthy!! Anywho...

Baby E

You're a rollin fool. Its all your dad and I can do to keep you from rolling off the couch or changing table. You have moved back into our room because you've been sick for the past couple of weeks and we just cannot let you be that far away from us when you dont feel well. It is your first sickness, but you're taking it like a champ!! Minus pushing all your antibiotics out when we put them in your mouth. That leads us to your next development milestone. You're now thrusting your tongue which is hilarious and yet makes feeding time so hard!! You laughed for your first time the other day which was absolutely precious and we cannot wait till you are laughing up a storm!! You still burst into tears every time we sneeze and laugh, but hopefully you will get over that soon! You had to get another round of shots this month at the check up, but like the last time you yelled at the nurse who poked you and then went right back to being ok! At the check up you weighed in at 15lbs 6oz and are already 27 inches long!! Thats in the 97%!! You can now see across the room and follow our voices wherever we are. However, the bottle is your favorite thing to follow. Its amazing how fast you go from screaming to happy when you see your bottle coming. You still sit through all of church without a fuss and LOVE you some music. One of your favorite things is when daddy sings to you. I have started trying to teach you how to two step by listening to old Randy Travis classics, but right now I must saying I am the one carrying our duo! : )!! You recently got a Clifford dog and are the happiest when he is in sight!! And you sleep better at night if you are holding mommas stuffed dog. Who knew all we needed to do to get sleep around here was to get you a puppy!?! All in all your little personality is so wonderful and we are loving watching you grow and hit all your new milestones. Get better little bubba, we love you!
